BRICK: Arcade Defense

Last updated:

This policy describes how information is handled when you play BRICK: Arcade Defense (“the App”), use its advertising, purchase, iCloud and rating features, or contact the developer.

1. Who is responsible

The developer responsible for the App is BABEL.SK (“we”, “us”). For privacy questions or requests, contact dev@babel.sk.

Google and Apple also process information when providing the services described below. Their privacy notices explain their respective responsibilities and practices.

2. Game data on your device and in iCloud

You can play without creating an account or providing your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.

The App saves the following information on your device:

iCloud. If you are signed in to iCloud on your device, the App also keeps a copy of your game progress — high scores, best sector, the round and sector counts, whether you have seen the how-to-play card, and a game in progress — in Apple's iCloud key-value storage associated with your Apple Account. This lets you continue on another device or after reinstalling the App. Your preferences and Daily Challenge records are not synced.

iCloud storage is provided and operated by Apple under its own terms and privacy policy. The developer does not operate a server for game data and cannot access the copy stored in your iCloud. You can stop syncing by turning off iCloud for the App in iOS Settings, where iOS lists it, or by signing out of iCloud. Device backups managed by Apple may also include local App data, depending on your backup settings.

If you enable tilt controls, the App uses device-motion readings to move the paddle. The App does not save a history of these readings or send them to the developer, Apple or advertising services.

3. Advertising and information processed by Google

The App is free and integrates Google AdMob to display advertisements: a banner in the main menu, full-screen ads between rounds, and optional rewarded ads. A rewarded ad is shown only when you choose to watch one — for example to get a second chance after losing a round — and the reward is granted only after the ad has been watched. Ads are not shown during active play.

Personalized ads. Where permitted, the App may show personalized ads, which Google and its advertising partners select based on information about your activity, including activity in other apps and on websites. Whether ads are personalized depends on the choices described in sections 4 and 5:

Whether or not ads are personalized, Google and the advertising providers involved in delivering an ad may process, depending on the service, your device settings and your privacy choices:

These services use information to deliver advertisements, personalize them where permitted, limit how often you see them, measure their performance, maintain service reliability, and detect fraud or abuse. Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience.

More information is available in Google's Privacy Policy and Google's explanation of how Google uses information from apps and sites using its services.

4. Consent and privacy choices

The App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to determine whether a privacy message is required and to manage the available advertising privacy choices.

UMP may process approximate location, technical performance information, and interactions with its forms to provide this functionality. It stores privacy-choice information on your device.

Where applicable, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, a privacy message provides information and choices concerning advertising-related processing, including whether ads may be personalized. Available options depend on your region and the applicable message.

The App requests ads only when UMP reports that ad requests are permitted. Gameplay does not require you to accept advertising consent, allow tracking, or create an account.

To review or change your choices, open Options → Privacy Choices. This entry is displayed when UMP requires it for your situation. The labels may be translated into your selected language.

Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it through the available privacy controls. Withdrawal applies to future processing and does not affect the lawfulness of processing performed before withdrawal.

5. App Tracking Transparency

After the privacy message (if one is shown for your region), the App may ask, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, for permission to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. Google may first show a short screen explaining the request. The App asks at most once; iOS remembers your answer.

If you allow tracking, the IDFA may be used by Google and its advertising partners to personalize and measure ads. If you ask the App not to track, the IDFA is not available to the App or to Google, and you can play exactly the same way.

You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking. The App does not ask for tracking permission if you have purchased the ad-free upgrade.

6. In-app purchases and ratings

The App offers a one-time purchase to remove advertising. Apple processes the purchase through the App Store.

The App receives transaction and entitlement information from Apple's StoreKit service to verify whether the ad-free upgrade is active and to restore previous purchases.

The developer does not receive your payment-card details through this purchase flow. Apple maintains purchase records under its own policies. For more information, see Apple's Privacy Policy.

Removing ads does not delete information already processed by advertising services. Deleting the App does not erase your App Store purchase history.

From time to time, after you clear a sector, the App may show Apple's standard prompt to rate the App. Apple handles the prompt and any rating or review you submit; the developer only sees ratings and reviews as Apple publishes them in the App Store.

7. Contacting the developer

If you email us, we receive your email address and any information you include in the message or attachments. We use this information to respond to your request and investigate the issue you report.

Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, or other sensitive information that is unnecessary for resolving your request.

8. Purposes and legal bases

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to provide the functionality you request (including saving and syncing your game progress), respond to support enquiries, and meet legal obligations.

For support correspondence, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to users and resolving issues, or on steps necessary to provide a requested service, as applicable.

Personalized advertising, tracking across other companies' apps and websites, and other advertising-related processing or access to information on your device for which consent is legally required depend on your consent and, on iOS, your App Tracking Transparency permission. Google and other service providers explain their own purposes and legal bases in their notices and the applicable consent information.

9. Sharing and international processing

The App uses Google for advertising and consent functionality, and Apple for iCloud storage, purchases, rating prompts and platform services. Information you send by email is also handled by the email services used to deliver and manage that correspondence. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Service providers may process information outside your country. Their privacy notices describe processing locations and the safeguards used for international transfers where required. Google's information about transfer safeguards is available in its data-transfer frameworks notice.

We do not operate an account-registration service, public leaderboard, or developer-hosted database of gameplay records.

10. Retention and deletion

To remove the App's local data, use iOS Settings to delete the App, rather than only removing its Home Screen icon or offloading it. This does not automatically delete records held by Google, Apple, or other service providers, including the copy in iCloud.

You can contact us about information you have sent directly to us. For information controlled by Google or Apple, use their privacy controls or contact those providers. We can explain which service is relevant to your request.

11. Your rights

Depending on your location and the applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, restrict processing, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent.

Send requests concerning information handled by the developer to dev@babel.sk. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity before responding.

You may also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority, including the authority in the country where you live or work. If you are in Slovakia, information is available from the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic.

12. Children

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. The App Store age rating describes content suitability and is separate from legal requirements concerning children's personal data and consent.

We do not ask children to create accounts or submit personal information. Advertising services may nevertheless process device information as described above. Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to the developer, contact dev@babel.sk so that we can investigate and address the request.

13. Security

Local App data is stored within the storage provided by iOS, and synced progress within Apple's iCloud. We use the platform's purchase and storage services and established advertising and consent services. No system can guarantee absolute security for stored or transmitted information.

14. This privacy-policy website

This page is hosted on GitHub Pages. Its HTML does not include analytics scripts, advertising scripts, or tracking pixels. GitHub may process technical request information, including visitors' IP addresses, when serving the website.

See the GitHub General Privacy Statement for information about its handling of website visitor data.

15. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date shown above. Where required, material changes will also be communicated through the App or the applicable consent process.
